Ration Allowance Of Forest Guards Increase From ₹ 1200 To ₹ 2000

In an attempt to ensure the well-being of forest guards, the Assam government has increased the monthly ration allowance from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday informed that the decision was taken during the assessment of flood preparations at Kaziranga.

The Chief Minister also recalled that the allowance is at par with that of police personnel in the state.

Acknowledging the key role forest guards play in ensuring animal safety, the Chief Minister wrote on Twitter today,  "Forest guards play a key role in ensuring animal safety. During flood preparations review at Kaziranga, a decision was taken to increase their ration allowance. Happy to share that ration allowance has been raised from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000 per month, at par with police personnel".

Along with the tweet, an order issued on June 8 was attached that read , "The Governor of Assam is pleased to enhance the ration allowance paid to Assam Forest Protection Force personnel from the rank of Followers to Inspectors from the existing Rs.1200 to Rs.2000 per month with effect from the month of June, 2021…"
