Assamese Actor Ravi Sharma joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh-cum-Vice president of National BJP Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other state senior leaders during a meeting held in GMCH Auditorium on Friday.

Dentist Dr. Anshumita Gogoi has also joined the saffron party who exposed the 2013 Batch APSC Scam. The brave dentist exposed the whole scam and filed a complaint at the office of the superintendent of police, Dibrugarh.

Following her complaint, the police laid a trap with Anshumita's help and two days later they arrested Nabakanta Patir, an assistant engineer of the planning department in Dibrugarh red-handed with cash. After arresting Patir the police succeeded in arresting more people linked with the scam and finally, after a series of investigations on October 30, they apprehended Rakesh Paul, the Chairman of APSC, on November 4, 2016.

Ravi Sharma starred in films like Hiya Diya Niya, Nayak, Iman Morom Kiyo Lage, Barood, Aami Asomiya etc. He is also a famous name in Assamese mobile theatre.
