Renowned writer Manik Bora passes away

Renowned writer, film-director Manik Bora, who penned several soulful compositions like 'Bairagi Bihongo', passed away today at 72.

He took his last breath at Sanjivani hospital in Maligaon.

His popular novel 'Bairagi Bihongo' has been airing in All India Radio (AIR), Guwahati.

Bora's elegant presentation and exclusive use of expressive language for novels and short stories enthralled readers.

As film director, Bora made a good number of Assamese cinemas. He associated with popular Assamese magazine 'Bismoi' group for long time.

He also worked in 'Sandhya Raag' (Evening Melody,) which was directed and produced by Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia.
