Revival of Nagaon, Cachar Paper Mills On The Cards

A delegation of nine Assam ministers and Assam BJP leaders led by Health and Family Welfare minister Pijush Hazarika met Union Minister of Heavy & Public Enterprises Arvind Ganpat Sawant in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The delegation apprised the union minister on several issues of Assam including the immediate revival of Nagaon and Cachar paper mills.

Sawant, after the meeting, assured the delegation that the issue of paper mills' revival would be looked at with all seriousness.

"Will try to revive the two paper mills soon" the union minister said.

Meanwhile, Pijush Hazarika also assured that efforts would be given for the 100 per cent revival of the two paper mills.

He also informed that the two mills have not been shut down completely.

"I have talked with a Dubai-based businessman about the issue. The two mills are not closed or shut down yet. The two mills will soon become operational again" minister Hazarika said.

Rameswar Teli, Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, was also a part of the delegation.
