Ripun, Rockybul, others arrested in RBI protest

Congress workers led by Assam PCC president Ripun Bora registered massive protest in front of the Guwahati regional branch of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The Congress party has launched a nationwide protest from November 5-15, 2019 against the economic slowdown and failure of the BJP government.

They were subsequently apprehended by police and were taken to the nearest police station. Assam Congress chief Ripun Borah, Harish Rawat, Rockybul Hussain, and other party leaders arrested during the protest.

Besides the unprecedented economic slowdown, there has beena rise in prices of essential commodities, the collapse of the banking system,omnipresent farm distress, loss of jobs in government and private sectors, etc.

"Under the government that promised rehabilitation of unemployed youths unemployment rate is the highest-ever in the world now. To highlight all such issues, we'll also stage protest in Delhi in the first week of December," said APCC.
