Rising waters in Brahmaputra; ferry services suspended

With the floods on a rampage mission in Assam, Manipur and Tripura, the waters of the Brahmaputra River are also following a rising trend.

Majgaon ferry services have been suspended from 7:30 pm. Inland Water Transport department has taken this decision pertaining to the rising water levels.

This decision of the department has raised furore among the commuters.

"Government ferries are in a dilapidated condition" said the commuters, adding, "They spend lakhs of fund giving importance to beautification processes."

Later, the suspension of the services led to an argument between the commuters and Majgaon ferry services employees.
