Robbers strangle woman to death in Jagiroad

In asensational incident, a woman was strangled to death by a gang of miscreants inChakumaku village in Jagiroad on Thursday after she tried to fight them.

Thedeceased has been identified as Hazara Begum. The gang of miscreants abscondedafter snatching gold ornaments and cash worth several thousand. "The ornamentsshe was wearing were also stolen," said a local.

Meanwhile,locals nabbed two miscreants involved in the incident and handed them over topolice. They were identified as Jiyarul Haque and Bajit Ali.

Thepolice suspect that the victim had tried to fight the robbers and was killed inthe process. "We have registered a case and will arrest other accused involvedin the incident," informed a top Jagiroad police officer.
