Rs 5 Crore For 10 Mini Cinema Halls

The government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore to set up 10 new mini cinema halls across the state. Reports said that five halls are pre-existing and will only undergo renovation, five brand new halls will be set up under the project.

Construction works areexpected to begin before the end of this year.

Chairmanof Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Ltd. Jatin Borainformed that proposals for 35 cinema halls were received to be opened in thestate. He also said that by October this year five new movie halls would beopened while five old halls would be renovated.

Earlier,the chief minister said that a seven-member committee would also be formed withvarious stakeholders to examine the feasibility of cinema hall locations andselecting beneficiaries for receiving government financial assistance foropening halls.
