A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RRS) activist named Dilip Kumar Biswash who defamed 'Pratidin Time' on 26th October, surrendered on Wednesday in Barpeta. The activist defamed 'Pratidin Time ' on social media platform Facebook by editing a Breaking News on Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi and uploaded it after which there was an outrage against the channel.
A complaint was filed against the activist by 'Pratidin Time' following which the he went missing.
Later, on Wednesday he surrendered at Barpeta Police and confessed that he morphed the image after taking a screenshot and made it viral on social media. Prior to his surrender his parents and friends visited 'Pratidin Time' office and apologized for the act.
