Afterfacing criticism for his stand on the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), opposed Assam Sahitya Sabha president Paramananda Rajbongshi hasfinally announced to oppose the bill.

According to Sahitya Sabha sources, the apex literary body would stage protests in every district demanding to scrap of the contentious bill on Friday. "We would stage dharna against the bill in our district offices on Friday," said the source.

It may be mentioned here that following the dubious stand of Sabha president Paramananda Rajbongshi, various posters were seen hanging in front of his house that sharply criticized him. "I am Paramananda Rajbongshi, the president of Assam Sahitya Sabha; and I have been sold, so do not hope anything from me," read a poster.
