The BJP President Amit Shah performed 'Bhoomi Poojan' for Assam BJP State office on Sunday in Basistha.

To encourage the party workers, Shah said that "I am the chief of a party which allowed a worker like me, who used to paste posters, to eventually become the party President.".

Bhoomi Puja is performed typically before the construction of any structure. It is performed in accordance with Vasthu Shastra.
