Shillong Under Lockdown For Two Days

Shillong city agglomeration will be under complete lockdown for the next two working days, that is, July 13 and 14.

Shillong city and the surrounding areas shall be under curfew till 6 AM of July 15, 2020.

This has been announced by Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma. He wrote on Twitter, "The Government has decided to observe the next two working days i.e on the 13 & 14th of July, 2020 as Total #Lockdown in the Shillong City agglomeration."

He further wrote, "During this time, Shillong city and surrounding areas shall be under curfew till 6 AM of the 15th of July, 2020."

As per resources, the lockdown period will be used for contact tracing of the reported cases in the city.

The state of Meghalaya has suddenly found itself at the receiving end. With a sudden spurt in positive cases, the government is taking several measures to contain the spread.

Meghalaya presently has 215 active cases.
