Shillong violence: Curfew lifted in some parts of the city

The curfew imposed in wake of sudden violence in Shillong has been lifted in some parts of the city on Tuesday morning.

East Khasi Hills District Magistrate PS Dkhar said, indefinite curfew still continues in sensitive areas.

Dkhar said, night curfew in entire Shillong city will be in force from 4 pm on Tuesday to 5 am in the next day.

Violence broke out last Thursday after two groups of people clashed after a bus handyman was allegedly beaten up by some residents. Army carried out a flag march throughout the city yesterday.
