Silapathar Accident: 2 Bodies of the 3 Missing Recovered

The SDRF and NDRF recovered two bodies of the three people who were missing after a car fell into the river from the Geluwa Bridge at Sisiborgaon under the Silapathar police station. The bodies have been recovered after two hours-long search operation by the SDRF and NDRF on Friday morning.

The dead persons have been identified as Tankeshwar Kalita (55) and his daughter Pallabi Kalita (16).

It may be mentioned that the four members of the family along with their driver met with the accident while they were on their way to Silapathar to attend a wedding. The family members who were inside the car were Tankeshwar Kalita, his wife Sarumai Kalita (80), daughters Kuki Kalita (25) and Pallabi Kalita. The driver Niranjan Mahato (80) is still missing.

The car with registration number AS 07 2164 fell into the gorge from the bridge and washed away in the wave of the water.
