Silchar: Five Succumbs To COVID-19

In a recent update, the vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital today Dr. Bhaskar Gupta informed five coronavirus infected patients passed away in the last 24 hours.

Presently, 11 patients are in the COVID-19 ICU and 2 in the screening ICU. 12 patients are in critical condition, Gupta said.

89 new cases of the infection have been detected today. The positive caseload in the district has escalated to 3199. 

Furthermore, in the last 24 hours, 217 patients were screened for the infection. 367 samples have been collected while 678 patients have been tested for the infection. So far, 74752 tests have been conducted by SMCH. Additionally, 31 were admitted within this 24 hours and 23 recovered patients were discharged, Gupta added.
