Singer Archana Mahanta is Critical: Doctors

Singer Archana Mahanta who suffered from a brain stroke on Wednesday is critical, according to doctors at Health City Hospital who are constantly monitoring her health. A team of 6 doctors is doing their best to save the singer's life.

According to the doctors, it has been a challenge for to save her life as she is a patient of diabetes, high blood pressure and Parkinson's disease. It was also been a challenge due to her age as she is now 72 and the doctors have to treat her keeping in mind her age and other ailments which she is suffering from.

The doctors said that her left side has become weak as it was affected most due to the brain stroke.

Meanwhile, her son Angaraag Papon Mahanta is returning from Mumbai today and he will be arriving today or tomorrow.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also wished her speedy recovery through his twitter handle. He wrote, "Concerned over the news of eminent Assamese singer Smt. Archana Mahanta baideu's illness. My prayers for her quick recovery."
