Pratidin Bureau

A heated situation arose in Lankaijan area in the border of Karbi Anglong and Hojai district on Friday after the district administration of Karbi Anglong launched an eviction drive to free the area from illegal settlers.

Police was forced to lathi-charge to disperse the protesters, where one person sustained injuries.

The Karbi Anglong district administration has launched eviction drive in 15000 bighas of land in the Lankaijan area since last Saturday.
