In asensational incident, two people including a woman, on a morning walk weremowed down by a speeding truck at Sopai Adhmapara area in Mangaldoi on Thursdaymorning.

The deceasedwere identified as Kiran Sarma and Suren Saharia. Both died on the spot, saidlocal.

Meanwhile,another woman sustained serious injuries during the incident and has beenrushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment.

Thetruck fled the scene but the police have initiated an investigation regardingthe incident.
