Speeding vehicles claim two innocent lives

Withcases of accident due to reckless driving on the rise in Guwahti, two persons havebeen killed by speeding vehicles in two similar incidents in the city onMonday.

In oneincident, a speeding Royal Enfield, with the registration number AS 01 DY 4032,rammed a child identified as Kukurmara's Bitupan Kalita near VIP Chowk.

AlthoughAzara Police rushed Bitupan, who was a Class I student of Kamrup JatiyaVidyalaya in Mirza, to the Excel Care Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

In another incident, a speeding bus rammed a woman, identified as Khanapara's Pratibha Devi, in Tetelia. The bus, with registration number AS 01 HC 6701, was travelling in the direction of Jalukbari from Boragaon.

Even though the woman was admitted at the Excel Care Hospital in a critical state, the doctors declared her dead.

Innocent lives being lost every day due to speeding vehicles has become a common sight in bustling Guwahati.
