In a tragic accident a student Anupam Chakma died after the escort car of Minister Himant Biswa Sarmas convoy hit him. The accident took place at Bharalumukh on Thursday morning.
Fast moving convoys of VIPs have always created problems like traffic jams and accidents, alleged the locals.
The boy from Tripura who is a 6th semester student of Tata Institute of Social Science was hit by the third escort car of the convoy while he was riding his bike.
Following the incident he was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH)after which he was referred to GNRC where he was declared dead.'
The escort car with registration AS 01 HC 8600 has been impounded however Assam Police have been silent over the issue.
