Thief caught red-handed; thrashed to death

In a sensational incident in Tihu under Nalbaridistrict, a thief died in the wee hours of Sunday after he was brutallythrashed by the locals. The thief was identified to be Mrigen Kalita.

According to reports, he was caught red-handed while attempting to rob a residence in Bhoira locality. The locals gathered and brutally thrashed him. Later, he was handed over to the police in critical condition. Police brought him to Tihu Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the locals alleged that Mrigen has ahistory of robberies. They said that he had also attacked several people in thearea on various occasions.
