Three Deans of Dibrugarh University withdraw resignation

Pratidin Bureau

Three Dibrugarh University Deans who had reportedly resigned a week earlier have at last withdrawn their resignation.

Earlier, on September 24 four Deans of the university had submitted their resignations which stirred quite a lot of controversy. However, post a meeting between the University Teachers' Association and the Vice-Chancellor, three of the deans had taken back their resignation.

The Deans who have withdrawn their resignation are Professor LK Nath, Dilip Mazumdar and NK Handique.

It may be noted that the reason behind the resignation of the four Deans has been said to be VC Ranjit Tamuli's decision to scrap some of the important powers from the CBCS Board.
