Three journalists from Sadin-Pratidin Group awarded with Government’s Media Fellowship

In a major achievement, three journalists from the Sadin-Pratidin group were today awarded with Media fellowships under the Information and Public Relationship Department of the state for the financial year 2018-19. A total of 20 journalists received the fellowship

The three were able to grab the fellowship, which has been launched for the first time in the State, following their proposal on specific projects that adhered to social development, healthcare, public awareness etc. The three journalists are Nayan Pratim Kumar and Kaustove Kakoty of Pratidin Time and Hiren Sharma of Asomiya Pratidin.

The decision was made in a selection committee meeting held today at the office chamber of the Additional Chief Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department at Assam Secretariat in Dispur, Guwahati.

The scheme has been introduced for the first time in Assam which aims to help journalists improve their professional skills and upgrade their knowledge in journalism. Under the scheme, 20 fellowships will be awarded to journalists along with Rs 50,000 each.
