West Kamrup Forest Department has been seized huge amounts of smuggled timber at Alikas farryghat in Chaigaon on Tuesday.

As per reports, an operationhas been carried out by the department led by DFO Ranjan Goswami where theycould seize a huge amount of Shawl wood along with a machine boat.

It has been suspected that.The seized wood might be worth of approximately 3 lakhs. But they could not nabanyone involved with this racket till now.

Reportedly Forest Departmentwill continue such operations for further details.
