Tinsukia: Ahom Sena Demands Akhil Gogoi’s Release

The Tinsukia district Ahom Sena has observed a hunger strike unto death at Pengeri demanding advanced treatment of Akhil Gogoi and other KMSS leaders.

The demonstrators observed fast unto death from July 9 against the government's inaction for the treatment of the peasant leaders.

Although the result of COVID-19 tests of Akhil is still awaited, the other leaders have tested positive for the virus and are undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

The agitators demanded immediate release of Gogoi and to provide advanced treatment to all the leaders.

Moreover, President Sourav Gogoi and Joint Secretary Biplab Gogoi of the Ahom Sena have fallen sick in the three-day hunger strike.
