A woman died on the spot after a speedy vehicle rammedinto an e-rickshaw and a scooter over the national highway in Guwahati. The incidenttook place on Saturday night near Game Village.

The deceased has been identified as Sweety Nato, aresident of Jayanagar area in the city.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident took placewhen the driver of the speedy pick-up van lost his control and rammed into the e-rickshawand the scooter. Another woman sustained serious injuries during the incidentand has been admitted to Health City Hospital in Khanapara.

Though the driver managed to escape from the accidentspot, the police later detained him. He has been identified as Ajit Singh.
