Trial to Start for Rajen Gohain’s rape case

On Tuesday, Nagaon District and Sessions Judge Court has directed to start the trial of Rajen Gohain's rape case (Minister of State for Railways) in Nagaon court.

Nagaon police submitted in a written paper to the court of a mutual understanding with the two parties in the case. However, the court has excluded the report of Nagaon police.

Earlier, Assam Police registered a case against Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain for allegedly raping and threatening a 24-year old married woman in Nagaon district.

The case (No 2592/18) was registered under IPC Sections 417, 376 and 506.

Mr Gohain had also filed complaints of blackmailing against the woman and her family.

Gohain claimed that the case against the minister has been withdrawn.
