Two electrocuted in Juria

Two  persons were charred to death when an APDCL high voltage overhead power line snapped and fell on a pond at Bogoriguri in Juria. Reportedly, the victims of the tragic incident came to collect bamboo's from the pond.

The victims were identified as Akbar Ali and Gulzar Hussain. Both the deceased were rickshaw pullers by profession.

Earlier in September, six persons, including children, died when an APDCL high voltage overhead power line (11000 volt) snapped and fell on a pond at Khatowal in Juria after the victims of the tragic incident came to the pond for fishing. After the incident, angry residents attacked the residence of APDCL worker Fakrul Islam. Allegedly, APDCL local division directed local line man to disconnect the power supply. However, the line man ignored the order.

Locals of the area are in shock and outrage following such repetitive incidents of electrocution in Juria.

On October 15th a man was electrocuted to death in Sualkuchi's Bansar.
