In road mishap, two people died on the spot and 30 others were injured when a bus carrying a marriage party from Jorhat to Dhubri rammed into a roadside tree after it knocked down a woman.

The accident took place on NH-31 at Singimari area of Abhayapuri in Bongaigain district of Assam.

The deceased have been identified as Bedanta Dutta and Junbala Rai.

The injured were rushed to the Bongaigaon and Abhayapuri Civil Hospital.
