A rape victimallegedly committed suicide in 4 no. Lamabari under Mazbat police station inthe Udalguri district blaming police for not registering her complaint, sourcessaid.

The rape victim reached Mazbat police station to register her case. But, the officer-in-charge of the police station namely Upendra Chandra Barman had denied to file the case and offered Rs 40,000 to dismiss her allegation. The accused was identified as ganja smuggler Babla Daimary.

"The accused is absconding. Police didn't conduct a thorough investigation, she was upset with police inaction and comments passed at her by women in the neighbourhood which led her to kill herself": Family members of the rape victim said.
