ULFA-I rebels lay down arms

A massive blow was rendered once again to the banned outfit ULFA-I on Sunday after two hardcore ULFA-I cadres laid down their arms at Kathalguri Gaon of Pengaree in Tinsukia district.

TheULFA-I militants surrendered following a joint operation by a team of IndianArmy and Assam Police.

Themilitants who surrendered are SS Sgt Maj Chandra Asomalias Chandra Majhi and SS L Cpl Mityonjoy Asom alias Inush Baruah.

Two 7.62 Pistol and 9 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the rebels' possession.
