Viral Video: MLA lays foundation stone for bridge

Few days ago, Pratidin Time aired shocking video, which shows how students of West-Kuruwati LP School in Assam's Sootea under Biswanath district risk their lives every day in order to reach school in time.

As an impact of the news, on Wednesday, MLA of Biswanath Constituency Pramod Borthakur laid foundation stone for a bridge on the river.

The said video goes viral across the nation as the little Children have to carry aluminium pots along with their school bags and walk down to the river bank.

This was followed by the MLA visited the said school on a boat. Borthakur took stock regarding the various problems of the school. He assured necessary steps will be taken to feasible the transport system.

It may be mentioned that there are no bridges or boats. The students climb into the pots and row using both hands, to get to the other side of the river. And it is the same mode of transport on their way back home.
