World Bicycle Day | Minister rides bicycle

On theoccasion of World Bicycle Day celebrated on June 3, Union Minister Dr. HarshaVardhan comes to office in a bicycle. The minister's aim is to make a pollutionfree country and also asked the people to ride bicycle to make the country freefrom pollution.

The resolutionfor World Bicycle Day recognizes the uniqueness, longevity and versatility ofthe bicycle and that it is simple, affordable, reliable, clean andenvironmentally fit and also is a sustainable means of transportation. Riding abicycle helps beat air pollution and is a great way to get some exercise andsee the beautiful world around us.

Simultaneously,the World Bicycle Day has also been celebrated in Guwahati and a programme 'Pedalfor Change' has been organized in the presence of state education ministerSiddhartha Bhattacharya. Several cyclists have also been felicitated in theprogramme.
