In a tragic incident of suicide, a youth jumps into the River from Nokhanda Bridge connecting Barpeta-Patbaushi. The youth has been identified as Harakumar Das (29) of Brindavanhati of Barpeta.

Theyouth jumps into the River at around 11 pm on Tuesday. Police identified thebody after recovering his bike and sandal in the bridge.

However, the rescue operation of the youth has not yet started as SDRF and NDRF personnel are busy rescuing the flood-affected people in the state.
