Heartthrob of Assam Zubeen Garg lashed out at Assam Tourism Department in his own style on Friday at Charaideo festival. Zubeen expressed his displeasure with the Tagline of Assam Tourism 'Awesome Assam' and its  Brand Ambassador Priyanka Chopra.

Zubeen said, " Priyanka Chopra is not suited to be the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism. Priyanka doesn't know much about Assam, she doesn't belong to Assam. Why is the Tourism Department portraying only Priyanka in the advertisement? Does Awesome Assam mean only Priyanka?".

Zubeen added, " It wasn't Priyanka  Chopra, but me, who adopted the first rhino calf in Assam. The tourism department must focus more on our wild lives than Priyanka".

Speaking  about the Citizenship Amendment Bill at the same stage, the singing star expressing his disquiet on Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's role in not opposing the implementation of the bill. Zubeen also appealed the state government to act on behalf of the sentiments of the people of the  state.

Zubeen further lambasted Asam Sahitya Sabha Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi recalling several occasions.
