11 Students Dead After Minibus Falls Into A Gorge

Elevenstudents including nine girls died on Thursday when the minibus they weretravelling in fell into a deep gorge at Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The vehiclecarrying the students of a computer coaching institute from Poonch fell intothe gorge near Peer Ki Gali on the Mughal road connecting Bafliaz in Poonch toShopian.

According topolice, 11 students, including nine girls died in the accident while sevenothers have been severely injured.

However, theinjured have been evacuated from the scene of the accident to Shopian hospital.

Expressinggrief over the incident, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik announcedan ex-gratia of Rs. 5lakh each to the bereaved family members.

The Governoralso directed the administration to provide the best medical treatment to thoseinjured in the accident and wished a speedy recovery of the students.
