Amit Shah Seeks Report on WB violence

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today sought a report from the West Bengal government on the violence that broke out between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at North 24 Parganas district on Saturday.

It has beenreported that allegedly, 5 BJP and 1 TMC workers have lost their lives in theincident.

Amit Shahtoday asked for a report from the state government, said BJP National GeneralSecretary Kailash Vijayvargiya adding that he is sure that Centre will take upthe issue seriously.

Mukul Roy,however, alleged that four workers of the BJP were shot dead by members of theTMC in Basirhat's Sandeshkhali by the TMC workers. The clash broke out betweenthe members of the two parties after BJP protested over the removal of theirparty flags from the area.

Roy furtherstated that a team of MPs will visit the area on Sunday to take stock of thesituation and will send a report to the home minister.
