Arun Jaitley cremated with State Honours

BJP veteran and former union minister Arun Jaitley who died on Saturday was cremated with full state honours at Nigambodh in New Delhi on Sunday in the presence of number of political leaders who attended the funeral.

Jaitley died on Saturday at AIIMS in Delhi at around12.07 pm. He was admitted to the hospital since August 9 after he complained ofrestlessness and breathlessness.

Most Union ministers with whom Jaitley had served inthe first term of PM Modi's government attended the funeral. Besides, Delhi CMArvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia was also among others who attendedthe funeral.

Meanwhile, PM Modi who was in Bahrain missed thefuneral of his friend. He offered to come back after hearing the sad demise ofhis friend but was dissuaded by Jaitley's family saying that he should continuehis tour. Modi is attending the G7 summit in France today after his visit toBahrain.
