Arun Jaitley’s Last Rites To be Performed Tomorrow

Pratidin Bureau

The mortal remains of former finance minister Arun Jaitley will be kept in his own residence in New Delhi on Saturday. The mortal remains will then be taken to the BJP headquarter at New Delhi on Sunday at 12 noon where BJP leaders and others will pay tribute to the former minister.

The last rites of the former minister will be performed at Nigambodh Ghat at 2 pm.

The Senior BJP leader passed away on Saturday afternoon after a prolonged illness. Jaitley was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi earlier this month after he complained of breathlessness and restlessness. In a statement issued by AIIMS, it said that Jaitley breathed his last at 12:07 PM. "It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Shri Arun Jaitley, honourable Member of Parliament and former Finance minister, Government of India, at 12:07 PM on 24th August, 2019," the hospital said in a statement.
