Azam Khan makes sexist remark against BJP MP

SamajwadiParty (SP) MP Azam Khan on Thursday made a sexist remark on BJP MP Rama Devi inthe Parliament. His remark came during the debate on triple talaq bill in theLok Sabha.

"Aapki aankhon mein aankhein daalke baat karne ka man karta hai (Feel like speaking to you while looking into your eyes", the SP MP said. After the remark, Deputy Speaker Rama Devi objected to it. However, Khan said, "You are like my sister".

Followingwhich the members of the House demanded an apology from Khan and this led to anuproar in the Lok Sabha.

Accordingto reports, as Speaker Om Birla reprimanded Azam Khan and asked for hisapology. Refusing to apologise, Azam Khan said he was ready to tender hisresignation if he said anything that was unparliamentary.
