Pratidin Bureau

Popular Bangladeshi actress Anju Ghosh on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal in presence of state BJP president Dilip Ghosh.

Anju Ghosh was handed over the BJP flag during the event.

Interestingly the Bangladeshi actor, whose 1989 film 'Beder Meye Josna' created box-office history in Bangladesh, dodged the question about her citizenship.

It may be mentioned here that Ghosh had acted both in Indian and Bangladeshi films from 1984 to 2000.

However, it has been known from sources that the actor was born in India and she has an Indian passport along with a valid Indian Voter ID card.

Sources further informed that she even voted at the recent Lok Sabha polls.

The former actor has been living in Kolkata's Salt Lake since the last three decades.
