Bihar Floods: Over 38 lakh affected, death toll at 11

The death toll in Bihar floods have increased to 11 on Wednesday with three more deaths, while the number of people affected by the calamity escalated above 38 lakh, the state disaster management department said.

According to a bulletin issued by the departments, the fatalities were reported from Darbhanga district, wherein the total number of deaths has now reached seven.

Of the total 11 deaths, the other four deceased were from West Champaran district.

The total number of people affected in the deluge, triggered by heavy rainfall in catchment areas along the Indo-Nepal border, has now touched 38.47 lakh. Over thousand villages across 12 affected districts have submerged in floodwaters.
