BJP Women Wing Leader Shot At, Hospitalized

Pratidin Bureau

A leader of the BJP women's wing, Radharani Naskar, was shot at by unidentified men in West Bengal on Monday. The incident occurred in South 24 Parganas district.

Naskar is the Vice-President of a unit of the Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha in Bisnupur area of the district. She was seriously injured after gunmen fired at her near her home.

According to a BJP leader, she was turned away by a local medical establishment upon arrival and later admitted to state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

BJP MP Locket Chatterjee alleged that Trinamool Congress is behind the incident in order to silence the voice of protest by the Mahila Morcha.

TMC has denied the charges and claimed it happened due to BJP's infighting.

Police said no arrests have been made so far and search is on.
