Former Union Minister P Chidambaram will be arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday after a special court in Delhi agreed to the agency's request for the custodial interrogation of the 74-year old who has been in Tihar jail since September 5 in the INX Media case.

Theagency had moved two applications yesterday which accuse him of moneylaundering in the same case to formally arrest Chidambaram and seek hiscustody.

Twooptions have been given to the agency by the court- to question Chidambaram atthe court premises for half an hour and then move application for custody andsending him to Tihar jail for now and arresting him from there.

Theagency also settled for the second option, Chidambaram will be arrested in themorning and he will be produced in the court around 4 pm when the agencyapplies for his custody.
