Civil Secretariat, govt offices be resumed in Srinagar: J&K Governor

Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Satya Pal Malik has directed the normal functioning of Civil Secretariat Srinagar and government offices be resumed from today.

The directions from the Governor came after reviewing the conduct of Independence Day celebrations and security scenario with the Advisors and Chief Secretary at the Raj Bhavan Srinagar last evening.

Malik has directed that arrangements should be made to facilitate movement of government employees to work. After the Friday prayers (namaaz), based on the developments during the day, relaxations could be considered subsequently.

According to reports, the Governor had been informed that Independence Day celebrations were conducted with joy and fervour across J&K and Ladakh.

Governor thanked the people for being cooperative during the period of restrictions and assured them that these would be reduced gradually.
