COVID-19 India: Recovery rate soars to 62.93%

India's recovery rate on Sunday has surged to 62.93% with over 19,000 recoveries within the last 24 hours according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The nation reported 28,637 fresh cases of coronavirus infection yesterday taking the country's COVID-19 tally to 8,49,553, while the number of deaths climbed to 22,674 with 551 people who died due to the disease in a day.

The number of recoveries stands at 5,34,620, and there are 2,92,258 active cases of COVID-19 across the country.

The total number of confirmed cases includes foreigners. The health ministry has also stated Medical attention is being provided to all the 2,92,258 active cases. During the last 24 hours, 2,80,151 samples have been tested. The cumulative number of samples tested, as of now is 1,15,87,153.
