COVID-19: India’s Highest Single-Day Spike with 13,586 Cases in 24 Hrs

India has recorded more than 13,000 new positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the biggest single-day spike. With the new cases, the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the country has climbed to 3,80,532.

Accordingto the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 13,586 freshvirus cases and 336 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. Atotal of 12,573 people have died due to the viral infection in the country sofar, while more than two lakh people have recovered from the illness.

Thehealth ministry's update said that there are 1,63,248 Covid-19 cases whichare currently active in the country, while 2,04,711 havecured/discharged/migrated.

Withthe highest number of Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra continues to be theworst affected by the coronavirus outbreak. A total of 1,20,504 cases have beenregistered in the state so far, while the Covid-19 death toll standsat 5,751. As many as 60,838 infected persons have been cured anddischarged from the hospitals.

TamilNadu is the second-worst hit in the country with more than 50,000 casesand 625 deaths. Followed by Delhi with 49,979 confirmed cases and 19,69 deaths,Gujarat (25,601 cases, 1,591 deaths) and Rajasthan (13,857 cases, 323deaths).

Moreover, in Northeast, the cases are increasing at analarming rate with Assam having the highest number of cases which stand at4904.
