COVID19 India: Cases surge above 3.2 lakhs, 11929 active cases, 311 deaths in 24 hours

The Union Health Ministry on Sunday reported that India recorded the highest single-day spike of 11,929 new Covid-19 cases and 311 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Total number of cases in the country now stands at 3,20,922 including 1,49,348 active cases, 1,62,379 cured/discharged/migrated and 9195 deaths.

Maharashtra has the highest cases in India with 1,01,141, followed by Tamil Nadu with 40,698 and Delhi with 36,824. Assam has 3900 cases as of Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the number of patients who have successfully fought the viral illness stood at 49.94 percent this morning. 1,54,330 people have recovered, reported the Health Ministry.

So far, the coronavirus pandemic has killed 4,25,000 people globally.
