Delhi’s Malviya Nagar fire under control after Indian Air Force operation

After massive fire broke out at Malviya Nagar in South Delhi, a request was received at HQ Western Air Command for containing the fire.

An MLH class helicopter airborne from Sarsawa did a recce and landed at Palam and thereafter got airborne with Bambi Bucket to contain the fire.

The helicopter filled water from Yamuna reservoir and dropped over the site. This had to be repeated thrice to contain the fire.

A total of approximately 8000 litres of water were required to control the situation.
