The Election Commission (EC) issued notice on Thursday to Rahul Gandhi for violation of model code of conduct over Congress NYAY banner put up on a wall in Amethi.

EC says banner was put up without permission of the owner of building. He has been asked to reply in 24 hours.

(EC) has come under intense scrutiny over the last few weeks for its inability to take swift action against those violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Recently EC bars Adityanath, Mayawati from campaigning for violating model code.
